Who We Are

Across Uganda, millions of young people possess talent, ambition, creativity, and the desire to build meaningful lives. Yet for many, the journey from education to employment, entrepreneurship, leadership, and active citizenship is often uncertain. Limited access to mentorship, practical experience, professional networks, career guidance, and opportunities leaves many young people with untapped potential and unrealized aspirations.

Dependable Youth Program Uganda (DYPUG) exists to bridge this gap.

DYPUG is a Youth Transition and Human Capital Development Platform dedicated to preparing young people for productive participation in Uganda's social and economic transformation. We believe that every young person possesses potential, but potential alone is not enough. It must be intentionally discovered, nurtured, developed, and connected to meaningful opportunities before it can create lasting impact.

Unlike programmes that focus on a single aspect of youth development, DYPUG provides a structured and integrated pathway that supports young people throughout their personal and professional growth journey. Through leadership development, mentorship, lifelong learning, practical experience, meaningful relationships, research, innovation, and access to opportunities, we prepare young people to become dependable leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, and active citizens.

Whether we are connecting a young person to a mentor, publishing an article in our Knowledge Centre, organizing a leadership session, sharing career opportunities, or supporting innovation, our purpose remains the same: to prepare young people for productive participation in Uganda's social and economic transformation.

DYPUG is more than an organization. It is a growing community of young people, mentors, educators, professionals, researchers, institutions, and partners committed to unlocking potential, developing dependable leaders, and building a future where every young person has a realistic pathway to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
